It's nice that we have a choice between the two BPM algorithms, but it would be nice to have VirtualDJ choose between these two algorithms for us. Since that may be a little far into the future, how about having VDJ look at hints to decide which one to use? It already has Genre information for the song available in the tag (you *are* tagging your music, right?) that should be already read when the BPM analysis is done (*cough*id3v2support*cough*).
For starters, a simple rule like:
if genre matches "*house*" "*club*" "*dance*" "*electron*" "*trance*" "*tech*" "*rave" (etc...) use the House/Techno; otherwise use "any music"
would probably be an improvement. And of course, we should still be able to manually select the algorithm to use for a specific song.

that would be a good idea
but for best results just leave it on any music
that way all songs are included

That's what I'd hoped, but I've found that "any music" gets confused by a lot of my house and lighter dance tracks... moreso than the house/trance algorithm :(
