Hi
I currently have the Hercules MKII (I had the DJ console before and I was going to get the Maya but the MKII can now allow me to have tt input)
Basically I want to do some scratching, so I'm thinking of buying Numark TT-1650 OR TT-200 500 might be too much for me).
I was looking at the Numark Battle Pak, it's within my price range (cheap I know but it's a start for me)
Of course the full version of VDJ.
Now is the hard part:
I want to be able to play songs automatically from cue points, but I want to use a 'key' per track. Now I don't want to use my laptop keyboard. My laptop will only be for selecting songs, everything else I want another device (that way I won't damage the keys on my laptop)
But I want one key for PLAY CUE POINT 1 TRACK A and another key for
PLAY CUE POINT 1 TRACK B. That way I won't get confused (I don't ever look at my computer when mixing, only yo select songs. The rest is touch and sound)
What do I need? Some type of MIDI device? If so what is a good affordable one?
I only need at most 3 keys per deck, so 6 in all. Can I program the 3 keys on the Herc for this? I can try that for now but I think the response on the Herc isn't all that good compared to the keys on the computer
BTW I'm not a professional DJ, more between bedroom and doing house parties
Thanks

I bought this about 6 months ago but I never really registered it
So I just registered and downloaded.
OK, so here's what I'm trying to do.
I've made 3 test samples. I know the mixing is HORRIBLE. I apologise for that up front. But it's just a few seconds to show What I want to do I can't do with the herc
The 1st one is just using the keyboard (on the laptop) only. I know it's a bit off but this is basically what I'm trying to accomplish (I know it as a stutter on the Numark machines)
http://www.progmatix.biz/test/test.mp3
The 2nd one is the same thing I'm trying but using the Cue and play button on the MKII (I don't know how else it can be done). The response is horrible (I'm sure it's not my skill)
http://www.progmatix.biz/test/test2.mp3
This 1 is me trying to scratch with the jog wheels on the herc. Again, it's terrible. I'm accustomed to TTs and I normally push the TT up a bit when I finish the scratch.

If someone can post a small sample using the herc to do what I am trying to do then I can say it's my skill. But I'm sure it's not, there's a noticable latency.
Any advice?
Thanks
