sorry if this already exists, im bad and didnt rtfm... but im playing trip hop for the first time and have to say the bpm counter is going horribly wrong... hehe, actually having to draw on old school mixing skills again which aint bad at all. however, something to replace the bpm tag with a manual tap would be absolutely lovely to shore up those broken beat tracks which make 4/4 a more interesting scale ;_)

you can manualy edit the base bpm if its going majorly wrong by rightlclicking the file and pressing edit / edit bpm

how is it going wrong as such?

Yeah, i saw that. However this isnt sufficient. How would you know what to set it to manually if it was wrong? For instance, trip hop is heavily syncopated so it may be 4/4 but beats are on offset 16ths and often syncopation (especially latin styles) are on 32nds with offset, so its not even on the grid.

Most of my triphop tracks were analyzed in the high bpm range, like 156bpm, but its actually somewhere around 100.

What Id like to see is to open that bpm edit window and have a button (linked to a keyboard shortcut of course) which you can stab 4-8 times and have the average bpm value of the keypress captured in the edit bpm screen.

The only other way to properly set the bpm is find a track that's accurate already, mix the second one in, capture that value, then calculate the second track back down to tare'd speed (0 pitch setting).
