I have the built in video arrays on both my motherboards; Due to case design size is a very big issue.
One is a 2U rack case, the other is a Small form desktop that only has the smal pci frames.
Both Motherboards can support up to 4 gigs of ddr and ddr2 ram what i was wanting to do was upgrade my ram on one slot to 1 mb and keep the 512 stick in the other slot.
Now can I assign the 512mb stick to be dedicated for video memory? and just use the 1 mb for normal system ram?
Would this be a viable option and how would video mixing look with this set up? The final output is to a DLP projector with VGA input.
This might solve some space issues that I am having because I didn't plan very well when purchaseing cases (live and learn)

it wont be dedicated it will be shared memory
so could still be a abit shakey
you can change how much ram is used for video in bios :)

OKay found a PCIexpress riser adapter for the 2U rackmount case.
I love eBay.
So i can now look at the traditional video cards for VDJ.
