Topic: Coin flip of PCI Sound Cards... X-Fi Elite Pro or Delta 44

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Debating which one would be better for my mega setup. I'm aiming for the most latency free setup, kinda confused since they both seem to be very different. I'm not to familiar with soundcards, and how they differ, but the X-Fi Elite Pro seems to be in front, boasting its 24 mb of onboard ram, but the delta 44 has gotten more reviews with DJ software, and swear by it. Ahhhh, decisions, decisions....

without a doubt, the delta 44...... but actually, I'd go with the delta 1010lt... instead od 4 in 4 out, you'll get 10 in 10 out, and they're basically the same price... the delta 1010lt can be gotten on ebay for $189.00 every day of the week... I own both, and would swear by either....

does the delta have onboard ram??? I don't think so... so sky, you'd get the XFI??

and why would the 1010 have a better TCV latency than the 44? I only need it for VDJ, and VDJ only, no real needs for multiple ins and outs.

if you don't need multi in/out ....... ??? i have the 44 but it's only got 2 out, i usually recomend 3 or more out .....

Lol seriously guys, the onboard RAM was made for game which support X-FI surround, ie, as a storage area for lots and lots of sound effects which may be playing at one time in a game scene.

Quoted from creativelabs.com: "The Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro also features 64MB of on-board X-RAM - audio memory dedicated to higher gaming audio quality and performance" Keyword being gaming, as this card is aimed at the gaming market.

When you load an MP3, it stores it in primary RAM, the soundcard just does the decoding. All a gimmik if you ask me, my audigy 2 benefits no less than some fancy sound card with 'extra ram'. Its got 96KHz for my dvd's , and thats what i care about :)

get the delta, its aimed at the professional music production market. And besides, you can always change your mind about ins / outs for timecode without getting a new soundcard :D

yeah i don't get that at all....i see here all the time talk about cheap or even not so cheap game cards but they're not 4 pro audio.........

24 mb (wow! lol) of onboard ram.....the delta 44 is about as cheap as it gets, but it's only got 2 out....i also have a presonus firebox 3 out via 4 pin firewire.....very hot outputs and good sound costs $300....it doesn't like XP MCE if that's yer OS but nothing else does either.....

Tru tru...

I'll haveto look and see about the 2 deltas then. I'm not going with a laptop, so a PCI version would be even better. Off to m-audio.com!!

----Edit----

K, so I went to m-audios site, and I found the 1010. There are 2 models, and one is DOUBLE the price. Anywho, I don't think it will be too hard to label all these ins and outs once its setup once. Question though, I thought I knew, but now i'm asking, is a "XLR" connection the silver plug, or the black plug?

(Oh yea, dunno if this helps, but for the NUO4 users that I was talking to earlier this week, this card has 2 mic/line in pre(s).
