Topic: Hercules MK2....What external mixer?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I am thinking of buying a external mixer so i can connect it too my Hercules Mk2. I have looked into buying the Numark 950 and was wondering if this mixer is defiantly compatible with the Hercules Mk2.

I am currently using my Mk2 with my laptop and wish to connect it up with my surround sound system and i have found it that it is possible using the output of the external mixer.
Am i right by sayin this and does anyone else have any other recommendations for choices of mixers or my setup?

Appreciate the response! Thank you, Martin

just about any mixer with two line inputs should work for using the Hercules MK2 mixer. Most mixers that are two channel should have a line/phono switch. If you want to add turntables and timecodes/reg vinyl you'll need Y-splitters to send the signal from the turntable to both the phono input on the external mixer for regular vinyl and the input into the MK2, then connct the outputs from the MK2 into the line inputs on the external mixer. (It took me 2 weeks to figure out that this is the only way to set it up for both regular and timecoded vinyl)

But it sounds like you just have the MK2 now and want the external mixer solely for the purpose of using surround sound? It depends on the inputs of your surround, but I would assume that it would have regular RCA inputs (White and Red) in which case you shouldn't need an external mixer, just RCA cables, connect from the 1/2 output on the MK2 to the input of the surround. Check all your output settings, and keep the gain low when you connect it, don't wanna blow a speaker, or an eardrum. Another way to do it would be to connect your output from the MK2 to the microphone input on the surround, but this is not the recommended way to do it. It can easily get distorted when plugged into the microphone jack, but if you watch your gain it could work.
