Yes... YAWN. ;)
Maddox has a website to run and a user base to entertain. He primarily has existed since the late 90's by being controversial and what could be more controversial than down playing the very visible (and vocal) windows to Mac exodus?
At the end of the day, he's a paid tool with bills (like most people wheteher they choose to believe it or not). This is just one of his jobs, and he does it well. =)
This latest thread of his is just another notch on his abrasive belt and is ultimately meaningless to the unstoppable switcher movement.
That said, I've been a fan of Maddox since 2004. =)

exodus?
Dude here are the stats for Operating Systems in use today and over the last year(under the browser stats) :
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_stats.asp
As you can see while osx has seen a 0.3% increase over the last year XP has seen a 2.8% increase.
Even if 5 million were to switch over this year it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference, unstoppable switcher movement? WTF are you harking on about? The amount of mac users will NEVER be an issue to Microsoft there is no switcher movement. Macs now run Windows, therefore people now feel they can get the best of BOTH worlds running BOTH OS's for different tasks hence the rise (however irrelevant it may be)
My god man change the record! I swear you are actually making me hate the fact that I use the same operating system as you.
Get over it ffs!
Mac Ambassador? Mac Arselicker more like.
peace.

Come on what did you expect Apple built its entire business plan around the fact that people are too dumb to use computers. I so hip and dumb I use a mac, great good for you. Security? mac's are not immune by far there have been a ton "security" updates for mac. Even better this latest update has been bricking mac's left and right. Nice going Apple way to win over customers heres and update, but your computer may not work after it.

I don't care about what either of you think, I only care about what I know:

Microsoft reaching a critical moment?
Another historical opponent of the iPod maker, Microsoft, has also been confronted with its own sea change over the past several days.
Financial institution Goldman Sachs on Tuesday pulled Microsoft from its "conviction" list, an exclusive group that Goldman Sachs reserves for its hottest properties. The latter kept the Windows developer on its "buy" list but said that the market dynamics had made it less relevant in the face of Web 2.0 apps, particularly from Google.
"Google is a competitor unlike any Microsoft has seen before," said Goldman Sachs analyst Sarah Friar. "Google’s dominance in search, deep pockets, and 'cool' factor make it a serious competitor to Microsoft as it strives to obsolete the desktop operating system."
The move was relatively timid in comparison to observations from one venture capitalist over the weekend, however. Y Combinator's Paul Graham caused a stir on the web by all but burying the software giant, saying it had been "killed" by web technology -- including some of its own. It was no longer the darling of cutting-edge startup firms and users, he said, as many of them had moved on to Linux or Macs as their systems of choice.
"Apple has come back from the dead in a way that is extremely rare in technology," he wrote. "Their victory is so complete that I'm now surprised when I come across a computer running Windows. Nearly all the people we fund at Y Combinator use Apple laptops."

windows will remain dominant for years to come, but only by default. That's weakness. Ford thought that it would always be king of the car world, and blind Ford flag wavers of course believed the same and never even saw Chevrolet as a threat, or anyone else for that matter.
Nowadays, Ford's old motto of "Quality is Job 1" is the joke of the industry. Quality lost it's job at Ford years ago along with the tens of thousands of former Ford workers.
Companies like Apple and Google along with a multitude of others are combining forces against m$ because billy g and his company did a bunch of business "No No's" and angered quite a few people, companies, and even governments internationally (one of those angered was called "Payback", and you know what they say she is). These companies are helping people realize that microsoft and it's products are both junk by providing much better, innovative, and revolutionary products and services.
The empire is crumbling and the microftians aren't waiting to get buried under the rubble from the falling walls.
They're staging a mass EXODUS to Mac and Linux for their OS's. Firefox, Opera, Safari, etc. for their web browsers. iTunes for their media management and purchases. Google and Yahoo for their online needs.

It was the same in the audience at startup school. All the computer people use Macs or Linux now. Windows is for grandmas, like Macs used to be in the 90s. So not only does the desktop no longer matter, no one who cares about computers uses Microsoft's anyway."
