automix initially starts the song but all of a sudden goes into the song farther than the where it supposed to start. almost like skipping. How can I stop this?

The automix still has some pronblems. There are other posts on this subject.
Some has been fixed in ver 4.3 but not totally. The team is working on this problem

That makes it sort of ...impossible to rely on for mixing automatically. I wouldn't have bought this if I knew it wouldn't work properly.

Well, this software is made for Professional Dj's as for a beginners but if you expect that it mixes everything for you it just can't be done ;) I use Winamp with some plugins to do mixing before I start to play (when people is just entering and gathering and the start of the evening).

What plug ins and such are you using with winamp ? I found myself turnong back to pcdj during cocktail hour and dinner for automix but would rather get away from that.
Thanks, Alex

I use 2 of them, one for crossfading and one for limiter:

sorry mate don't want to get on the wrong side and sound shitty but the reply comes across as dismissive, negative and quite abrubt to someone that has spent their hard earned cash on a programme that is not doing what it says on the 'flyer'
you buy another programme not half as good as vdjs attributes and it will do what you need it to do through the cocktail hour or whatever i've watched this software progress from its initial conception until its present development (well before a lot of you even thought about djing and even heard of the programme) thats why a few months ago i decided that it had progressed far enough to invest in it including some of its short comings, pick up a demo of mixmeister and you will understand where vdj needs to improve, from this post to idtags...this is not a put down of vdj only an observation where the basics need to be put at the forefront and not on the backburner where the stock reply is "soon" wait for the next update......

Machine will never replace a man. Simply as that. The suggestion I made above is just for pure crossfading, not mixing, you will have no silence and no sound level jumps. If you want Virtual Dj to Automix for you than you have to adjust it right and wait for some update fixes.
I still say that this software is for Professional DJ use, not for automixing.

i totally agree with what you say about automix me personally i only use it when i need a quick bar/loo break and even then dont really trust it, the point i was trying to make to you was we all appreciate the help and advice that you give to us newbies and people like myself that have'nt a clue about computers and how they work is if you could soften your initial approach to a subject then after you have explained the problem then tell us to pi$$ off.. lol as i said before we are grateful for your help...

Why do you want to be a DJ and not want to mix? Kind of like wanting to become a chef, and then seeking out a machine to just make the food for you.
Wanting automix for when things are slow is understandable. If your audience will tolerate some simple fade in/fade out during those times, you can use the automix feature, but enable "Force Fade", and adjust the fade time to what sounds best. Don't mess with the decks while in automix mode, and it will work fairly well. When it is time to get serious, take it off automix mode, and get busy.
