I can't understand what is going on with support with different midi controllers for Virtual DJ. I am a virtual DJ pro licensed user. I have used DJ console MK2 and i really don't think that it is a proffessional piece of equipment. I recently purchased the Vestax VCI 100 midi controller and after about three days of requesting support for mapping the controller to VDJ I got a response back stating that the controller jogs will not map with VDJ. I don't understand why you advertise that VDJ can be mapped to any controller that supports midi, when in reality it doesn't. I love VDJ but I am very disappointed that I have to make a choice between VDJ and Traktor to be able to use my controller.

That explains why Vestax went with Traktor and not VDJ…

I'm sure that a couple of months down the line this will be sorted.
Don't forget the Numark Total Control will be out soon and it might not be commercially sensible to support the Vestax now in advance of Total Control because it might detract from Numark sales and preorders. Note the absolute silence in any of these threads from any VDJ employees, mods and teamers. Unusual.
But the VCI is such a good professional quality unit that I predict it will be very popular and if VDJ doesn't get on board, then it will be a shame. Other software is developing and one day might be as good as VDJ.

The TOTAL CONTROL is no where near the quality of VESTAX VCI 100 , Jogs are way to small and it doesn't have touch sensitive jogs like vestax does, as someone who reviewed the unit said," it's the closest thing to CDJ's and VINYL out there". :)

I am just curious, have you used a Total Control? I did not think they were commercailly available yet????

Total control isn't out yet, but it does look slightly plasticky, although I am sure it will work great because Numark are very innovative. I went for the VCI-100 because it looks very professional, which is important for me when I have my clients so close to me. Plus which it emulates to a large degree the Pioneer CDJ1000 mk 3s which I also use. In my market I have to look as if I have the best equipment in order to charge the highest prices. I do mobile , weddings, etc etc so I don't have the luxury of being in a booth. I probably would have bought Total Control if it had been out first, just to try it.
I'm finding that I am getting used to the VCI-100 though and it is working very well except for the jogs with VDJ.

@asymptote I too am a mobile guym and ask for fair rate, Also I am a pretty big Numark supporter. In what way do you mean "plasticky"? I have no problems with something looking "different" but cheap is anothger matter. I have real, real, real nice gear, just look at my blog, and was considereing a Total Control for when I am not using my iCDXs. Thanks for any additional info you might have.

Well, I haven't seen one face to face, so my view that it looks plasticky is just based on the photos I have seen.
I really like the VCI-100 sowill stick with that for a while.

If Virtual DJ supports the VCI-100 - THEN I'll buy Virtual DJ.
Till then I'll use Traktor.

I suppose the real fact of the matter is that VDJ corporate have not said that the VCI-100 is a supported controller. This forum is for 'supported hardware'. They are probably pretty busy with other things right now.
But for the future of VDJ it is important that it works with all the very popular controllers. That might take some time though, because a lot of staff time would be needed I guess. In the meantime, Traktor is getting people at the start, when they buy a controller. Every one (nearly) comes with Traktor compatability from the start. Even the Numark Total Control will ship with Traktor LE. Time will sort this, I'm sure, but for us VDJ fans it's hard.
