Hi I just recently got into DJing (aside from basement stuff). Im in partnership with Hans (other UDP member here)
First off, I tryed out the PC Demo and loved it, I had no problems and was able to mix very well on my Desktop PC which is 4-5 years old. My partner has a newer IBook. We decided to purchase the Mac version for the portable Ibook. Well we ran into a few problems with things freezing up on the laptop. Most occured during a live DJ performance last friday, it got pretty scary.
My big questions is, Are most people using the Windows version with lap tops? We're mobile so lugging around a Desktop and a moniter isnt ideal. Im wondering if maybe I need to get a windows running lap top and switch to the windows version. We're having many issues with the mac version (addressed in the mac forum allready). Another plus to switching to the windows version would be all the effects to add on and the skins/plugins.
Also what king and how much will I need to spend on a lap top and a external hard drive to keep VDJ running smoothly?
Thanks

hi there the mac version is its first release and will have many updates soon.
there will aslo be new skins added as soon as they are converted for mac and new plugins when people make them
the ideal windows , laptop for audio is
2ghz +
1 gb ram+
and as much storage as you require the higher the rpm of the drive the faster it loads
for video
2ghz core duo
2gb +
256 or better decicated video card.
the mac version works fine on any new intel macbook or macbook pro
with 10.4 or greater installed.
