Hey guys, i usually run my setup from my laptop, i carry around an 80 gig external hardrive with all my music to DJ with. I am way too frustrated with the mouse and keyboard setup and have finally decided to splurge. What is the difference between these two pieces of hardware? If i get both sources from my computer (for the music) will i be able to output my sound with these pieces of equipment? THanks guys i appreciate the help. I am a newbie here, so hopefully this question isn't flameworthy - though i did scan the threads prior to makesure this wasn't answered recently... Thanks!

hercules first came out with the dj console mp3 controller. which was a great product for controlling your dj software through midi.
but then people asked hercules to add a sound card to the device. and they did.
so hercules came out with their 2nd generation dj console mp3 controller: mk2
recently, there has been speculations that hercules is coming out with their 3rd generation dj console mp3 controller. taking the mk2 and making it wireless and adding 2 lines of text led. most of the forum thread was that it's too shitty of a product and that it looks like a toy. but realisticly, what do we do when the battery runs out in the middle of an event.
so yes, we are waiting for hercules mk3 to come out with out the wireless part.

So what are the advantages of adding a soundcard to the device? Preslistening? What kind of outputs does the sound card add?

2 stereo outs. and 2 steros in and headphones
prelistening lets you listen to the otherdeck say B
while A comesout the speaker.

I must correct you, first console (MK1) had built in sound card inside.
Than MK2 was out, and a little later DJ Control Mp3 which is just a midi controler.
