Topic: questions before i buy dj console mkII

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

hi,
in the last days i have read a lot about the dj console and timecode-vinyl...
I think best solution for me would be the console - but i still have some questions:

1. What's the difference between VDJ Console Edition and VDJ Pro?

2. What features are missing in VirtualDJ console Edition? Does somebody have a screenshot?

3. Can i download and use effects, skins, and tools with consoleedition-license? Can i use the mapper by djcel to configure the console edition or is it already included. Or can i configure it via VDJ console-Edition?

Thank you very much,

Jens

i've already seen...
sorry - to late.

well i think the console edition will be okay for me...

now only thing i wory about:
http://www.virtualdj.com/products/djcedition.html

there it says: "HQ MasterTempo: VirtualDJ Pro offers a higher quality sound engine"

how should that be understood? that djconsole sound is wack?

I think I would'nt need the mapper if everything is setup like i imagine... hehe...

thx for fast reply anyway

oh... what i forgit:

if iam going to buy vdj4pro then i get the mapper to setup console with VDJ4 and this would cost 199eur extra?

the console sound is fine it is just the older software v3

v4 is pro with many updates.

if you buy the console you get a
discounted upgrade to pro

which comes with longterm updates

which have been free since v1

I got one more question (sorry ;) )
The jogwheel can be used for scratching - i have read that it'S not possible to press play - scratch and then hold the track to get it started on beat... to match it... do i have to use cue's for that? this would require fast fingers and high concentration i ghuess ^^

Or can you scratch and hold it or does the jogwheel not react when i touch it to hold?
Would be great to get it workin' like that...

Yes it would but it is not :). For that option U need touch sensitive platter like XP10 or M-Audio Torq Xponent controllers.
With MK2 U can use Cue points to start on beat, and you can do it in many ways.

but i can press start/playbutton --> scratch --> hit cue to get into the matching beat?

Yes, but not with Cue button, you have Auto match button for that or you can use Beat lock.
