I'm planning on buying an MPC1000 in a few weeks, not just for sampling. I want to mix in my own music and drum tracks and the MPC has a great sequencer built into it.
To start I'm just going to use a spare channel on my 3 channel mixer but once I have a little more cash I will change out to a mackie board and separate each of the outputs from the MPC. I use to use a MPC3000 for a long time so my experience with them is pretty extensive.
