HyperMemory(or TurboCache(Nvidia)) means the video card(or GPU) is sharing the laptop's main memory
not actually recommended for smooth video mixing
just playing might be okay, but if it comes to mixing(overlapping 2 videos) ...
it maybe will not handle it so smooth
you should look for a laptop with dedicated video memory (at least 256, i would say)
for smooth transitions
i know there some new ones out with the new 8000 series nvidia gpu, like 8400GT or 8600GT
haven't heard any detailed reviews, but i think they will do the job
maybe somebody here has some experience with those...

Ive got the Inspirion 6400 with RADEON X1400 256mb
The graphics card is actually 128mb dedicated then 128mb shared when needed. It works fine for basic video mixing if you dont have alot of other crap installed. I was getting alot of pops and crackling sounds with the laptop plugged into the power, but this was solved by tweaking the graphics manager program (catalyst)
Just make sure you run your machine for optimum performance. It should look like a windows 98 OS when youve changed all the settings and will run alot better. There are plenty of guides on here as to what changes to make just look in the blogs. Dont run any virus scanner while DJ and turn off things like wireless networking.
I do recommend 2gig ram though not 1, especially for vista. Get an external USB 2.0 drive with 7400 RPM to store your videos as well.
