Something in my new setup is causing virtual DJ to restart

Can anyone help me determine the one.

since I have had my new laptop
I have had zero problems

today I added my Hercules MK2 (I want to use its input to record the session)
and I added a USB HUB...

I have 3 USB Ports
1) Port Dedicated to the MAYA44 USB
2) Dedicated to the HDJC MK2
3) Goes to a USB hub where I plug in my 2 IDXs ,

I see no one likes this topic
I think it's my wireless card that might be causing the problem.

it's not the HDJC,

so one of two things wireless or usb hub.

without both. it's doesn't do it.

Thanks,

Wireless can mess up ANY audio drivers, reason being that Wireless is a painfull thing for the PC CPU.

the wireless talks to the CPU constantly, and mess up for audio drivers that need a good clear line to the CPU.

So for audio programs, most soundcard makers, recommend disable Wifi.

It sounds like you are having a conflict, so try with Wifi disabled :)

Do you have enough ports on the machine to plug the iCDXs into there own ports?

I think what you are seeing is that you have latency draws on the hub and you are getting a dump of VDJ because of it. I have 2 iCDXs and my CMB200USB (2 sound cards) mixer. When I first got the mixer I thought I would run the iCDXs and the mixer's 2 connections through a 4 port hub. Problem was very funky performance, lags and sometimes out right lockup of VDJ. If I don't put the iCDXs on the hub and give them there own ports OR use a separate port with a hub only for the iCDXs then everything is happy.

Now this is not an exception to not having your WiFi on. I never recommend using any type of network connection with a VDJ setup unless you are synchronizing two VDJ instances between 2 computers. So keep that stuff turned OFF.

seems like it may be the hub more than the wifi
I removed the hub and it works ok but i need to record
and that required another sound card.

its hard to tell if the problem is gone because sometimes it takes an hour or more to restart
I just played for 2 hours with wifi on and no hub
zero problems...

I will find out tonight, I have to play from 7pm - 2am

I am going to try the mic input on my onboard soundcard to see if that works out ok

Thanks,
