im thinking of buying an this numark dxm06 mixer, will it be possible to hook it up with the hercules console, or is there any other mixers i should be looking at.

you can use the hercules with any mixer that takes anolog inputs (RCA)
I have a dxm06 and it works great I don't use it much anymore because I need more input jacks
If all you have it the computer and maybe 2 turnbables the 06 is great
try to add 2 CD Players to the mix and your screwed
A good bang for the Buck is the 5000FX , I use the old DM1200.
the dxm09 gives you one extra channel (2 inputs)... great for VDJ Samples.
Also look at the CM200USB and the DXM01USB, both have built in sound cards
which perform better than the soundcard in the herc.

not to slave it off the Hercules, I own a DXM01usb mixer. It has four inputs, so if you need more buy a bigger mixer.

The cm200 is a POS. It's 2 independent sound cars show up in windows as 2 standard usb sound devices which VDJ can't differentiate between and neither can anything else. So it's essentially useless. It also uses 2 USB cables to connect to the soundcards which like I said appear as the exact same device in windows.
