Hi all,
My first post so I thought I'd make it count!
I've read through all of the threads on this forum about Shoutcast and found some very useful guides, however one question remained unanswered....
"How do I get added to the Shoutcast directory" or
"How to be touched! by Shoutcast" or
"How to make my Shoutcast public"
Okay, here's the answer...
In C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\ open the file sc_serv.ini
Look for the following line - "PublicServer=default"
changed it to - "PublicServer=always"
Easy eh?

unfortunately that wont apply to the built in server in vdj as shoutcast isnt installed and it runs as its own modded shotucast server

I see what you mean, using the "Broadcast from my own computer" option rather than the "Broadcast to a radio server" option your kind of at the mercy of the programmers really. Makes commerical sense to have this disabled by default to sell the VDJ Radio Service instead! :P
Truth is that it's very easy to set up your own Shoutcast server and have it made public as long as you don't try and push through 30 or 40 listeners at 320kbs. The advantage of going through VDJ Radio is the publicity tbh ;)

use , the shoutcast dsp plguin and instead of using win amp use sound from card
and point that at your shoutcast server problem solved

With that solution, they won't get track information broadcast from VDJ though, will they?

no they will not
option B is to setup a shoutcast server some where esle on your network
and stream to that in external server mode
