So do it in smaller chunks in the sub folders.. Also, once you recurse it should possibly fix the problem. So, it would be worth the wait?

How large is your C: drive?

I am having similar problems, audio plays fine but no video - I ended up getting a green screen but could not get out of it.

do you mean the video window turns green?

if so what video card do you have?

Hi, I am also having a problem with display of video, and sometimes audio cuts out if I load another video into the other player.

Laptop - IBM Thinkpad R40
Memory - 1Gb
Drives - C: local 60Gb, E: USB WD 500 Gb, G: USB Seagate 500 Gb
OS - Windows XP SP2

I found that after a search, I select the found file, right-click and choose 'go to folder' and then drag the file to the player, the karaoke .ZIP file will play correctly. It seems that when you first scanning a drive to generate a database (.XML), it does not .CDG within .ZIP files. When you play files from .XML, only only the .MP3 plays. If you navigate to a folder manually and drag the file from that folder, it seems to play the video .CDG companion file from within the .ZIP. If you ctrl-a (select all) and right click and add to search db, the next time you search for the files and drag them to the player, they will play.

It seems to be a bug in the way drives are scanned - the .ZIP decoder isn't seeing .CDG files. The way I know this is if I type something into search and the .ZIP is found, the icon for it is a yellow question mark ( ? ). If I right-click on one file and choose goto folder, then the icon changes from question mark to proper icon of ( k ) for karaoke file type.

Perhaps it's a CODEC issue. The main change from v4.3 to v5.0 was the removal of CDG extension and a choice for karaoke plugin (forget actual name of the plugin). And .ZIP files are set to "ZIP Decoder", but I would like them set to the karaoke plugin which is not a choice now for v5.0.

I don't know what to do about the other problem, about audio cutting out after loading a second video file. I'm thinking I will need to add another 1Gb of RAM, it seems to be a resources issue. The CPU utilization green meter is maxed out for me more with v5.0 than with v4.3.

ps: I love Virtual DJ app
