If your directory structure is not to deep with tracks - right click and do a Recurse on the directory. Do in smaller chunks if necessary. - try that?

hum.. weird

What happens if you got to the folder with the mpegs, and right click that folder and choose "add to search database"

do they work better then ?

if your running version 5
make a filter
Name: video
Filter: type=video

hopefully that helps

or
name: top 20 video
filter: top 20 nbplay and type=video

***edit: sorry i misread ****

Create a Filter folder - (call it Local Database if you want)
Use a filter of :: isscanned=1 or isscanned=0

This will show you all your files.
