Hi,
i use a laptop for video mixing. Laptop has currently dual boot OS. Both boot OS are win XP, first one is for general computer use like internet etc, and second is for VDJ only. General XP installation has internet connections anti-virus programs, etc etc. and VDJ dedicated XP installation contains only VDJ.
So, VDJ dedicated XP installation should work better for VDJ, right?

But it is not true. I get cracks and pops when playing videos on vdj dedicated boot installation. But General XP installation has no problems whatsoever, i can even surf on internet and burn cd while i play videos wtihout single click or pop. How could it be possible?

Laptop is HP nw9940 and general xp installation is OEM version. Does it just fit better for laptop? Better drivers?

Any ideas?

Dual os/partitions is for sure a great idea.
I use it for my main home computer.
Maybe something went wrong in your windows installation.
I'd say try again in the second partition or even create a third partition.
