I've got a USB Plextor 716 dvd drive that was working fine.
However, last night I was plugging in the usb cord to my laptop
and the little green light in the tray came on as usual, but then
all of a sudden a bubble showed up reading "device not recognized".
The cord tested okay.
The same dvd drive was plugged into the USB port of my Shuttle and nothing happened.
No bubble, no error message, but no use of the drive either, and it was not located
in "my computer".
Any quick ideas on what might have happened? i.e., what's the good news?
What's the bad news?
There's no drivers for these things, right? As I have always just plugged them in and started them up.
