Topic: Database Check

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I did a "*.mp3" search on the "My Music" folder and I get a total of 5942 files. I went to VirtualDJ and went to the folder and did a recurse on it (I have the "Search Database" set to "Add automatically"). I get 5942 files as well. That means that all the files are being read so I thought that all is well with my VirtualDJ database.

The problem happens when I go to change the database with the buttons in the "Browser" tab. I click on the "Check" button and now it says that 5919 files are in SearchDB with 23 saved old entries. I did not do any change to the "My Music" folder. I did not change the file paths of the MP3 files or delete them. Can anyone please explain why this is happening so that I can rectify the situation?

I thought to look at the XML (VirtualDJ 5.0.4 database file) to look at the "saved old entries" and found 23 weird entries at the bottom and one actually had a path name in English instead. Only one!?

Here is an example of how the old entry looks like (I had to add the returns (by pressing enter) in between the FilePath value in order to prevent the forum's display from getting stretched out):

I think it might be attributed to weird characters that are used for the file name for some of my MP3s. For example, "Tatu - 30 Минут - 200 По Встречной.mp3". Is this why?

Hum, think you might be right about that.

5.1 has improvements on language on the list of to-do's, so I think this is releated to that maybe

Thanks, as long as it is fixed eventually. It is not too bad of a bug for now, only that I cannot find those 23 tracks if I had to search for it at an event.

Well, you could remove the Russian characters in Tatu and the other 23 tracks, until the characters are supported :)

Yeah, the hard part is finding the tracks that have the unsupported characters. The Tatu ones are easy to find since the word "Tatu" is in English, but that is only 18 of the 23 files and I do not know what the other files are named. Is there a way to search for weird characters? Haha. :-)

Here is a little more proof that the language might be the problem, but only 7 files and not 23 are found here. These are the files that were not able to be scanned when I ran a BPM check for my entire database. The "Impossible to open the file !!" is the error in the "File Infos" window. I wonder about the other files that did not show up here, but were successfully analyzed.
