I have just purchased VDJ and have it on my lap top for ease of transportation> I want to listen to one track and play the other so need to up grade my sound card to a 4.1 with seperate sound out puts (could use a stero splitter but then loose stero as well..no point in that). The problem I have is that I'm being told this cant be done..I have a X30 IBM laptop with stacks of memory.....so what should/do I do to get a usable system!!! Thanks Charlie

-or- you can use what I use...

Finally, a portable solution for the digital DJ. Indigo DJ offers two independent stereo 1/8 inch analog outputs; one for setting up your cue mix on a pair of headphones, and the other for the house mix. Each output features 24-bit/96kHz converters for the quality you deserve. Also included is a 6 foot audio cable for RCA or 1/4 inch connections.

If you opt for the simple USB soundcard, here is an option: http://www.xitel.com/product_hfl.htm from a USA & Australia retailer.

These simple USB soundcards can be found all over the internet and show up as a 2nd soundcard in your audio configurator.

Cmoor, sinds you are using a laptop, get yourself an Echo - indigo DJ. It's really the best choice in combination laptop VDJ (promise!)
