So, I'm kinda of thinking of getting out of the field I'm in and pursuing something in radio. I don't know, just kind of thoughts going through my head. I deal with people with high cash flow 250k and above. It's pretty boring for the most part. I'm 26 years old. Honestly, I'm weird in the fact that if you would have told me 3 years ago that I would be a AVP for a bank, nice window office 15th flr, Cable TV in your office, just real chill I would been like sold! But now I'm really satisfied with the job. So I'm really thinking of switching it up and trying something in radio. I REALLY enjoy DJing in clubs, I really have fun with it. What do you guys think?

Why not do both? Radio is a challenging career. Mixing in clubs is something different. At your age there is no reason why you cant keep the day job and DJ at night. Usually Friday Saturday are going to be your big days in clubs. Radio, well thats different. Most places expect you to put in 8 hours a day, just not all of them on air. If you find the right radio station you can do your day job and then radio. Establish yourself at either the radio station or the club. Then if things are going well you can make a better decision about whether or not to keep the day job. Don't walk away from a career with a promising future just to DJ, unless you are certain you can make a run out of it. Myself, and many others here have day jobs and DJ on the side. Don't walk away from a good day job though. Especially the way things are going.

try your best not to get into radio...unless you want to be a full time joch. Its getting worse & worse. Club scene is where its @. Money wise anyway. I would take full advantage of the video age.....not that many doing it right now....it would be the best way for someone new to stick out & be different.

i got out of radio just in time. it's damn near all corporate, you have ZERO creative input in the music - it will all be programmed for you from a sales generated demographically oriented database. all radio stations want these days is a jock that can do production, remotes, and look halfway decent for their PR people. and if you cant hold the listeners attention or keep ratings up so they can charge more for their commercials then you are out on your rear when the next ratings book comes out.
