Could someone please walk me through the set up and then the actual way to use it regarding two soundcards and headphones. I have the internal laptop and a Maya EX USB. Please start with which soundcard configuration I need, then please take me through the steps of how to pre-listen from headphones in one deck while the other deck is playing to the club. I know this is simple, but I seem to still be confused.

It's not so hard.
In sound-config,
1. If you use an external mixer (recommended)
choose the option with 4.1 soundcard and mixer,
its the 6th icon from top to the botton.
Also choose the maya (or usb device) as soundcard.
2. If you dont use an external mixer
choose the option with 4.1 soundcard+speaker+headphones,
its the 3th icon from top to the botton.
Also choose the maya (or usb device) as soundcard.
Now use as outputs : 1+2, and 5+6 on Maya Ex

Once the soundcards are hooked up, how do I use the headphones with the VDJ skin. If deck A is playing, and I want to listen to Deck b through, do I just drop the volume on the deck? Do I have to do anything else?

Some skins have a headphone slider, that will let you prelisten both decks through vdj
Most dj will do this at external mixer though, where there is a headset output, and cue buttons for prelisten
