Hi all,

Can someone using Timecoded CDs please tell me if VDJ will handle "tempo" adjustment rather than pitch? I always mix with tempo.

I'm planning to use a CDN88 through an appropriate sound card.

I PROMISE i am buying the full version very soon. Decision has been made. ;-)

If you're asking about time stretching (or master tempo or whatever..)
you can't have it, by changing the pitch slider in the cd player.
The only way, is to use the "virtual" slider (mouse) or keyboard shortcuts, or an external
cotroller like xp-10 or hercules.
You can use timecode and controllers (or keyboard) at the same time.

Yes, I want to set VDJ to "tempo/master tempo" etc at the start of the night (so the vocals don't smurf when sped up), but use the CD controller (CDN 88) to beat mix. I only use "tempo" adjust, never normal old pitch when mixing.

I was hoping that with the use of an ASIO sound card, time coded CDs and Virtual DJ combined with a good DJ CD controller and X keys, the only thing I'd use the keyboard for was to search for songs...

Maybe I'll need to look at the XP10s or a mapped DAC instead of time coding afterall....?

Just checked the terminology in the online manual - yes, I'm talking about Time Stretching. Adjusting the pace of the music without altering the tone.

It's already possible do disable / enable TimeStretch. It's in the FAME options.
There's also a skin which allows to do it.

I want to use time stretch, but I want my mixing (controlled via a time coded CD) to be done on a CD player. I know how to turn time stretch on and off. :)

or you can create a shortcut key for this.
I use Alt+M.
But usually (99%...) i dont use time stretching, because i dont like the quality.
If i need to mix a song with more than +- 4% difference, i "rapid" enable Time str..
with Alt+M, mix, and quickly correct the tempo, then Alt+M to disable again.
