I've tried browser_updown with different values but that doesn't work. Ideas?

There must be a way to do this. Otherwise browsing is very slow when scanning through a large folder.

I should have mentioned I use midi controllers for all messages sent. No keyboard. The only thing I'm lacking is page up/down via midi.

I don't use a keyboard at all, when DJing... only midi controllers.

Thanks,

Which controler do u use?

I don't think it's possible to have a page up/down mapped to midi, as you
noticed the function does only have a possibility of 1 value increments.
But you might try something else:

If you have a wheel knob (that can turn infinately in either direction) that
would be ideal. Than you map that knob to the browser_updown function
and in Encoder/Wheel tab select +1=1, -1=127. And if the wheel sends
data "1" when spinning one way and "127" for the other way, you've got
your fast scroller.

Tabs on the right appear only when using fader or rotary knob

If you only got knobs that turn from 1 to 127, than you could use the second
choice on this pic (+1=65, -1=63), so when you move the button a bit on the
left side (1-63) it would scroll up, and on the right scroll down. It's really fast,
but hard to be precise with it. You could use it just for quick browsing, than
select the right track with normal +/-1 steps.

If you are mapping a button, you can simply map the same action more than once to the same button to create a macro to move by more than 1 file at once (The shortcut itself will only ever scroll up/down by 1 file at a time.)

E.g: Map a button 10 times to browser_updown +1 and another 10 times to browser_updown -1 - You will then be able to rapidly move through a long list of files.

Thanks guys for all your help!!! I'm going to try the redundant button idea... Maybe times 10 or 15. Why didn't I think of that? Great job!!!

I might be able to use a dial / wheel too.

btw.... I use XP10's and a Faderfox DJ2.

Thanks,
Sean

Hehe, good idea :) But the devs should really add the possibility
to include larger values. Should be a quick fix.
