Topic: how many tracks?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I just added 47,007 tracks into VDJ archive. It seems to have handled it well. What is the maximim amount of tracks you have added and recursed? What was the result? Have you ever tried to count that many tracks?

I have arround 25.000 tracks.

I prefer quality over quantity, almost all of them are 256kbps, i hate anything bellow 224 :)

I want a 1TB harddisk, please.

1TB drives are not far off.

Hitachi makes a 400GIG SATA drive. We have 4 of those drives in a raid for 1.4TB.

By this time next year you will probably see them...

Guys,

Not trying to hijack this thread, but just a quick question. When you move tracks from one folder to another (tracks that have already been analyzed), have any of you had any problems with losing the bpm and cbg data? I have worked sooo hard to get the correct bpm and cbg set on thousands of tracks that I am afraid to move them. I am still not done but am thinking twice since I really dont want to start all over again..

Moving tracks its safe, because dadabase store filenames and filesizes of every track.
If you change one of them (the first by renaming, the second by editing tags... lets say by using pcdj..)
then you loose them from virtual dj (yello mark)
My advise: dont touch important files after analyze / make them read only (is what i do)

WELL, it finished counting all 47000 tracks. So I closed VDJ and re-opened and went to the drive and it appears it did not save them. all of them have a yellow question mark next to them. What the hell?

what do you mean it finished counting them?
Did you analyse all 47000 in such a short time?
The question mark indicates that the song has not been played or analysed.

I have 1108 at current.

I don't want many more, just what's needed to stay upto date on the house scene.

1108 is alot, considering I payed for them.

And quality wise I go for VBR which averages out at an 8mb file for a 6 minute song.

That's it, I'm happy. I don't download.

I have close to 5,000 of diffent types of music and yes it gets expensive. Never had a problem with VDJ loading the tracks.
