I was using smashvidz & PO as well. my VJ gig for one spot ended and now i'm back doing it at another location. You might wanna look into VJpro.com I'm considering their service as they have vids with intro/outro beats and no "Movie audio". ERG has a decent selection too & multiple ways of paying for their services...

I've been using Promo Only for over 5 years and have NEVER EVER come across a video with a conversation going on over the top. The quality is excellent and many of their videos have intro/outros added for beat mixing. At over 100 videos for £40 per month it's fantastic value. Among those 100+ videos are some old skool videos remastered with intro/outros added.
I use the digital download service which is excellent.

I have been using Promo Only since the mid 90's and I have been very happy with the service they provide. Last year I switched over to their full digital package. It is great. I get HD videos and lossless m4a audio files. The lossless files are important to me for the best quality audio. I used to use VJ Pro for over 5 years, but they fell behind the times and their download service is not as robust as Promo Only, in my opinion. It is a great time saver not having to rip DVDs or CDs anymore.

Promoonly sucks!! They don't even edit there videos, meaning, have you ever watched avideo when all of a sudden the music stops and they start talking like its a movie.........well that's what you'll get from them. So you'd still have to edit it and add your own track!! Have a look in the "Music Video" thread there's alot out there that are way better in my opinion.

Being 'legit' sucks some times.. ;-)
xtendamix (which does edit all their videos) has the same problem with any song that comes from sony..
you see, sony, for some stupid reason decided they dont want ANY changes done to the videos.. IE: they are following the copyright law portion of 'No derivatives' to the anal level..
So.. LEGAL providers like Promo only and xtendamix have to jump to their wishes if they want to continue receiving videos from those guys..
My opinion is its not a big deal.. I either re-edit the song (and I have come to the belief that most Video DJ's should learn how to re-edit the stuff, as its a pretty useful talent), or I set up cue points and simply "skip" that portion.. Great thing about VDJ is i can skip portions like that and if I'm on the ball, no one will notice..

extendamix works great have edited videos and you can request videos and they will go back to the labels and get them. also they got beatles vids and vids that i've never got from promo only. pay for the year and you get 2400 downloads. i have been a erg and a promo only user for 15 years and extendamix id by far the best
