Just bought the Denon MCX8000, LOVE IT!
Like all the features in the controller and how it works with Serato, but hate using the Serato software.
Just wondering if anyone is working on an optimized mapper and skin for the Denon MCX8000?
If so, let me know how the progress is. If not, is it difficult to make on my own with no mapping experience?
Keep me posted,thanks.

MCX8000 is natively supported in the latest VirtualDJ 8.2 http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VirtualDJ8%20Controllers.html
No custom mapping has been uploaded to our Addons page yet, but if you need to modify the default one, let us know of the needed actions.
I dont see how this unit would need a custom skin either. The whole idea on having the screens working on the unit is to stay away from the laptop and use that probably for advanced Browser search or some advanced software features. Note also that a skin is just graphics representation on your screen and adds nothing to the functionality of the unit.
Please take the time and read the operation manual http://www.virtualdj.com/manuals/hardware/denon/mcx8000.html
PS. The Zoom In/Out wave level (along with some minor improvements/additions) will be supported in next build.

Could you make it work with the 4 fx buttons ? Now I have the virtual dj standard skin and only 1 effect is possible. On the hardware you have 4 buttons.
If you can make it, that would be great !

I have heard many horror stories about the MCX8000. Such as freezing displays and glitches. I must say that has been with MAC"s and Serato. My question is, Are the issues specific to MAC's or Serato or is it a Denon hardware issue? Has anyone had any major issues with this unit using VDJ8? All the YouTube reviews people use the same software and similar computers, as well as all reviews are from 2016. It about to be 2018. If there were errors have they been resolved?

The freezing issue seems to be in Engine standalone mode only.
The MCX8000 is completely faultless with VDJ and Windows (I'm running 8.1) ... been using it since June 3 times a week and no issues whatsoever. The mapper is well written and covers pretty much everything you would want.
It's a bit of a waste having standalone mode built in as Engine 1.5 constantly crashes and the standalone function needs new firmware. Denon promised both in January and we're still waiting. If you're not bothered for the screens (or standalone mode) and want to save some money then the MC7000 will do pretty much the same job.
I have really lost faith in Denon lately .... great hardware as always but the support for the software side of things is abyzmal.
