So has anyone attempted to make their own Karaoke files using stems?

Yes, and it's working fine (audio vocal total supression / guide just good)
need some work for video
instead of lrc file with same name better add lyrics directly (copy paste) in video editor (font, font size, colors and fine sync)
no smooth color fill (something that may be fine to have in future versions)
