Topic: New laptop - RTX5080 or 5090 GPU?
Hi all,

I'm looking at getting a new laptop as mine is 8 years old & needs replacing.

Question is, is it worth the extra for a RTX5090 over the 5080 bearing in mind I have no interest in gaming so purely for the extra stems processing power?

5080 is way fast enough. I have 4080 and it processes stems at 41x.
 
Just for your reference, I upgraded to a Lenovo 7i w/ a 5070 and it’s plenty fast. Around 36-38x stems speed. Even the couple of 5060s I tried were separating around 32x. At those speeds, songs are ready in about 4 seconds!
 
Good info, thanks guys. I guess a 5070 will be more than adequate.
 
I have an RTX 3060 and it's superb on my laptop, no issues think it's more the VRAM that's important
