lol
Oh, and for those of you wondering why I'm going to stop DJing for two years starting September (I've made references in other threads) it's because I'm going on a mission for church. Scary how close that is..... Don't know where I'll be going, but I should know in about a month. Who knows, maybe I get sent to Norway? ;D

Yeah, that's pretty much what I do, except I usually try to make a sample of just instrumentals without vocals from another part of the song. Quite often I am able to make the edit completely unnoticeable. (Once I had someone get mad at me for playing a song that they knew had a bad part because they didn't notice I edited it out!) I've got a few samples of some of my edits at http://www.freewebs.com/djstevenbarker/samples.htm
(By the way.... the CueEvents plugin was my idea :D I still hope it's actually implemented in VDJ4 though, because it would be much easier to use.)

quite some work...
but its needed sometimes for me too... where dirty versions dont go well with the crowd you play for.
Luckily not to often here, as Norwegians care less for profanity in English than Norwegian... for some reason. Doesn't seem to have same impact, when its said/sung in English:)
Norwegian lyrics with dirty words, are far more common to get a negative reaction....
Yeah, love the CueEvent too.. great making automatic features, for those who want.
Not sure if it will be added as a native feature in VDJ, unfortunately.. Maybe later.

:( awwwwwwwwwwwwwww
It would be so easy to implement it though, wouldn't it?
Maybe by the time I come home from my mission in two years? :-\ probably not if there isn't someone here pushing for it :(

its on the wish list;)
But there where so many things that needed immediately attention regarding timecode and more for the VDJ 4 release.
I'll keep asking for a CueEvent feature to Dev Team:)
Might be added soon... its a great feature that could make VDJ stand out from the competition regarding automated use.
So it might be added real soon..

Well, I'll be gone in a few months, so as long as it happens before I come back it will make me really happy.
lol, then I could DJ my own wedding reception in December 08!!! lol....Sarah told me I couldn't do our reception, but if I have it all set up beforehand I don't think it will be too much of a problem ;D

hehe ;) yeah.. you can make a full show with a "cue event feature":)
You gotta bring your PC, and dj-ing things with you when you take the "year off" :)
and keep in touch on forum ...

I won't be able to bring my gear... they'll have to go in storage for two years. I'll try to keep in touch on the forum, but most likely I won't be able to post much, if at all. I can do snail mail letters, and probably some email (depending on where I go) but that's about it...
As for my wedding reception when I come back, I'll probably have most of it set up, and then have my friend actually be the DJ. He doesn't use VDJ (yet...) or even a computer, but he's the one who got me into DJing. (Honestly I'm pretty sure that I'm much better than him already, but he's a really nice guy.)

yeah... the "mormon way" is probably being a year "off line" ... or two in your case.
But I guess its a bit like bicycling.. when you know how to dj, you know how to dj.. So you will be back in the swing of things in no time I hope;)

I might not remember all the songs so well at first, but I'll definately get back into it pretty quick.
Speaking of bycycling....I'm going to be doing a lot of that! ;D

Yes, let's not get off topic! :)
geposted Sat 17 Jun 06 @ 9:37 pm
It wouldn't be the first time this thread has gone way off topic. Also, we have already come to the conclusion that version 4 isn't going to be released until it's good and ready and that no one is going to tell us when that is, we just have to wait and see. Besides, no one was complaining ;)
Oops....better get back to work ;D

OK, just to continue my tour as an rumour-ass here: Numark Virtual Vinyl is going to be released in October (according to numark, no kidding), and DJ-IN-NORWAY told us that VDJ 4 is going to be released when V-VINYL is being released... Do the math... October it is... or perhaps november/december,,,
Now settle down and enjoy 3.4. It is the best software out there as of yet...
