Hello,
I am building my new DJ system. All the hardware is brand new. I got myself a Vaio Intel Duo laptop for the setup. The windows setup is a clean one, all drivers are latest, and i use the latest 4.1 VDJ.
My problem is that, i get tons of clicks & pops when i use master tempo (not if fast mode), when BOTH players are playing.
My sound card is the PCMCIA Echo Indigo DJ. I use Asio drivers on VirtualDJ.
I thought i should be able to use MT on a duo proccessor.
Any ideas why this might be happening?
Thanx in advance.

BTW,
I don't think that its a CPU issue.
When both players are playing and MT is on, i hear crackled sound, but the CPU is arround 10-20%.

but it works fine if you lower the proformance tab?

that's correct.
But i just checked my IRQ settings.
Soundcard, video card, and other hardware are all sharing IRQ 6 so that might be the issue.
Thanx!

I am a little bit confused.
I have a dual processor CPU.
I cannot change from ACPI to "Standard PC", i read the it wont work with 2 CPU.
So what are my options?

then in that case , use the faster setting , you are probaly overtasking the computer on higher modes
the sharing aslo may be an issue ,
if possible change it

your latency settings ? on both card's audio/asio pannel and vdj performances tab ?

I don't think i am overtasking the computer. CPU is at 20% when both players are playing with master tempo ON at it's higher setting.
Using fast master tempo is not an option (it's quality is very bad).
Apopsis, yeia sou file!
I have tried latencies up to 48ms, with the same results.
I will be contacting Echo Audio support, to ask them if there's a workaround to shared IRQ on Indigo Dj.
Thanx all for the help, i'll update this thread as soon as i have more info.

that's why i asked for both performances tab and asio pannel.
Use "auto" and then set the latency from the card's panel.
You can use the greek forum btw -)

Ok,
I did a little research. I tested other DJ software to hear their master tempo.
I didn't have any problems with any of them.
With TraktorDJ, at its higher master tempo quality, both players were playing flawless, not a single click, and my Duo 2GHZ CPU was only at 10%.
So, i guess this is an VDJ issue.
I am only posting this to help the developers; VDJ is by far the best DJ software out there, and i'll be happy to help.

this is definatley a vdj v4.0 problem exclusivley as I have tried it on my dell inspiron 5100 2.8ghz w/ 1gig ram and sound blaster audigy 2 nx, as well as my brand new core 2 duo e6600 with 2 gigs of ram, and just the onboard sound (ac97 and soundmax) but I get clicks and pops and weird sound mutations while using jog wheels, eq changes, even if its just playing and i'm not touching anything... I checked out the guide in the 2nd post.. but not 1 mention that it could be A VDJ problem.. (which is partly to blame in my opinion) So to end this rant I have reverted back to 3.4 as it is stable and works!

It's really scandalous to sell a computer with that by default. It is not very professional.
