This one is directed more or less at the Dev team.
being that everyone on this bulliten board has had trouble related to hardware; would it be to much trouble to post a "Tested and Prefered" equipment list.
I mean stuff like..........
Motherboards
Chipsets
Cpu's
Soundcards
Video Cards
Best Option for Time coded vinyl needles.
COntrollers (not so important)
How about the comps that the CORPORATE STAFF developed the program on?
When I got into this I went out and purchased generic off the shelf components and assembled them. A how-to / perfered configuration would have been a good guide.
Maybe it's time for some uniformality?
Same rack, same problems, or lack of them.
Also PLease use the K.I.S.S rule.

I too agree, if they can't we could just get the users to list their specs only if it works 100%.

Thanks; I priced out a SHuttle Combo like the one posted - they're not really available anymore. Next Generation stuff is about 600.00 to buy the peices and assemble at home.
Now what about sound cards and needles for TCV?
Specifically what brand and model of needle do you fine people use for testing your TCV? ANd the soundcard seems important too. It might be helpfull for users, there are lots of peeps having many many problems.
If the dev team have a combination that works , please let us know. we'll probably go get similar if not the same stuff.

So a Nice Simple microbox system setup works best.

And these are the two prefered versions of soundcard that the DEV TEAM uses.

Now to the users out there here is my Suggestion:
Look and read here^^^^^^^^ they are NOT using laptops at all. It's a Micro Desktop setup. This also happens to be the way I set up my system (lucky coincidence). so that might be why it works nicely.
So chuck the lappys get a compy and rack it. Or floor mount it under the desk (for you turntable users)
That's how I'd look at it.
