Some of you will be glad to hear that I am still working with the reality of letting 4.2 become flawless on my machine. Now, let me explain my main problem that I would like to get going once and for all!
The videos usually stop during the song, and if I click on the progress bar ahead of where it actually is, it'll start up again. But I still have to put up with a "stop", and then a skip of a few beats in the song.
Not a good workaraound.
I think I've done all the tweaks that should have helped, but haven't yet. Except maybe dedicate one core of a dual core laptop to VDJ. WILL THIS REALLY HELP? If you think so, tell me how to do it.
My specs are:
Dell Inspiron E1505
Centrino 1.8 GHz Dual Core
1 Gb Ram
80 Gb Int. HD
Sony DVD+-RW
GeForce 7200, 256 Mb Video card
500 Gb Ext. HD
XP Pro Sp2
Do I really need to have to upgrade here as I here all the time that many with lesser equip. specs
have no problems with videos. I really need to hear from similar spec DJ's that run videos to tell me what they had to do to make it work. Let's give me one final try, Thank You.

Check your IRQs. I had this same issue with my Dell due to graphics and sound sharing same IRQ (16). I have never got this POS Dell to run flawlessly so I built my own system. Is this a Lappy or a Desktop?? I also was never able to use the MK2 with this system so I went back to the onboard and it will play videos now I just cant add things to it. My weekend dj is kinda just an automix DJ so this system is workin for him.

Have you tried running all your videos through the Windows MediaPlayer Video decoder and not the internal Video Decoder?
On the CODECs tab change all the Video Decoder choices to Windows MediaPlayer Video decoder - how does that work?
I know this is kind of a given, but...
--make sure you have the necessary video codecs installed on your machine.
Once you launch VDJ, go into the Task manager, Processes Tab and right click on the virtualdj.exe entry. You will find the setting there. And without paying for a tool, you would need to do this each time you launch VDJ.

I'll double check my codecs, but this same machine plays the same videos flawlessly in 3.4.
Assuming the codecs = Okay, is there anything else that makes the Lappy's better oriented
towards 4.2r1?
