need a quick chat please (advice)......my main lappy is away for repair again,(screwup in workshop) & i thought it maybe time to update my backup lappy as this i think will only play audio files only, anyway would it as i'm as thick as the proverbial when it comes to comps,... currys/pc world have some deals going and i have a couple of shiny ones to spare would it be worth spending money on one of those or go to some other outlet to get a lappy that would play vdj's whole kit & kaboodle if you know of one could you please advise thanks...Tayla

thanks for gettin back sorry about the late post but you never know, as promised way back at the beginning of feb i said i would get vdj because of all the years i've been djing in the bars & clubs nothing i've come across for the enviroment it will be be used in can touch vdj(its the dogs kahoonas!). First things first, currys repair shop 'the tech guys' have made one pigs ear of repairing my main lappy its now been back to them under warranty since early feb four times once for a new mother board three times for a fault of their making, the last one happened on friday night when after i had installed vdj (could'nt wait, but not yet ready to use, still had mixmiester as main programme) got to the bar set up and got nothing but WHITE NOISE when i came to play the first track, (EVERYONE READ THIS CAREFULLY) i naturally thought fcuk! VDJ is there a link? switched everything off went through cables,sound card,mixer,amp,the whole lot even up the girls skirts could'nt find anything, switched back on "tawt!" WHITE NOISE shit! not been known for a long fuse, for whatever reason i pulled out the psu cable & shabam WHITE NOISE man gone VDJ totally exonerrated (so you guys check there before any complaints) "tech guys" have by there own admission fcuked up again on the board so what they now proposing is to write off my lappy if they get the ok by way of an apology and hand me hopefully the cost of replacing mine when bought was £800 to spend in store coupons (tawts) so i thought if you, and me been cheeky could check out there site see what there is me throw in maybes an extra £200 and see what results you can come up with. Dont forget i will not be using the video for any heavy mixing per say.

Sorry your not feelin so perky but.... installed directx 9 feb 2007 on back up lappy when attempteting to open vdj box pops up informing me "Error in the sound driver of directX" mixmiester works fine any ideas before i start stumblin about...plus not complaining just amused how & when or why was i elevated to professionall edition user lol.....Tayla

Reset your sound card settings in VDJ then reopen VDJ,k it shout take care of that error.

that poor lappy was doin ok for itself until the "tech guys " got their mits on it, feel guilty now,(the shame) anyway had a look on their site unless i'm mistaken theres not much to see, looks like a trip back to the store for a better selection next week if they sort this insurance/right off thing comes through, could you give me minimum specs required again also best specs i sometimes think i've got a brain to store this stuff probs best to write things down eh....cheers

Which is the best programme (again) & simplest one to get round the id3tags issue til its sorted in vdj, like many others i could'nt be arsed to do a comment file to suit all the genres etc( i have been on all my new files) could try to sort all the filing and whatever on back up lappy as a practise trial run then i'd be ready for the new one i hope...cheers,Tayla

come across this data basemapper thingy ma' chingy, may solve some issues with above or all of them don't know until i try, now i'm siht scared of proceeding with this because i'm as i've told you i'm a dumb smuck when it comes to computers, do you have the time to mentor me through this if time permitting on your part, say in the general forum were i'd be the guinea pig (i'd not mind getting embarrased in front of millions if it were for the greater good) because i'm sure there'd be one or two out there who would like to try this pluggin but like me are crappin themselves to give it a go and may just shut one or two of us up about the id3tags or would it be more convienent to do it through msn that is as i say if it fits round your schedule, as always thanks...Tayla
