I just updated to version 4.3 and i still can not get my long song mp3s to load. I have messed around with the max load and set it numerous times from none to 5, 10, 15, 30 and always and still it will not load any of my 15min and above mp3s. What can be possibly wrong? My songs keep chopping up after about 1 min or less and then stops playing. I also have messed with the performance tab and nothing seems to load my songs. Can some one please help me put. I would really do appreciate it.

Ok, this might sound crazy, but i had similar problems when I first started using the program

Go into your music directory on your computer and right click on one of your mp3 files. Click on 'Open with...' and make sure Virtual DJ is selected as the program for opening the file with.

Re-open VDJ and see what happens.

Good luck...(",)

Ok, i just did that and restarted Virtual DJ and it did not fix the loading of songs bigger than 15 min. Right now as i am playing music it is chopping up and the song is only 10:17. I have been messing with VDJ for about 4 hours straight now to see what else i can mess around with to see if it will fix, found nothing. Thanks for your assistance though

Hey Nu, it might be time to take a walk. When You come back you might see something that was easy to overlook.

LOL, to be honest this problem happened when i was using 4.2 and i was hoping that they was working on a update to see if this problem would go away. I seen that in the version history it says fixed the problem but i am still facing the same loading issues as i did with 4.2 and i uninstalled the 4 version and went back to 3 and guess what ver 3 ran slower than ever, so i had to go back to ver4. Mind you that i did reboot the pc several times and defrag and everything to do a clean install but it seemed not to work. Now i am stuck. if i had to throw a gig right now i would be screwed. please do help me

I just tried to load 2 songs one song that is 9:30min and another that is 11:12min long and both songs refuse to load. when i hit play it will play for like 5-10 sec and then starts to chop or not sound at all. hhhhhhhhmmmmmmm. my max load was set to always and then 15 and 30 and my performance is fastest with no checks.

Well thanks for all you that are posting useful info but as of right now i am reformatting my PC just to see if it is the PC or software. I dont have that much to lose (except PORN) LOL since that pc is only dedicated for VDJ. I do hope that will fix the problem if not then i will be posting again.

Ok reformat done and did a install using ver 4.3 full update and still no difference. i did everything i could do. what a waste, anyway if anyone knows how to fix this loading problem please do let me know. I can tell you something that a 7 min song that took longer to load before the reformat, now loads a bit faster. I know there is something that can be done, it was perfect for version 3 but i do not want to go back to version 3. i kinda like 4 better and better skins and all. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know how you feel, Nu Sounds.

I have been having all sorts of freezing problems with VDJ so today I bought a new higher rated motherboard and will be fitting a new 3.0 MHz Intel P4 CPU to it as well as 1GB of higher rated DDR2 800 spec ram. I'm then reloading Windows XP Pro onto it as well as a fresh download of VDJ 4.3.

I'll let you know if the problems are rectified with all of this. Should know within the next 48 hours.

Good luck.

has anyone have any luck on getting 10+ min mp3s to load correctly on vdj 4.3? Anyone with a processor that is not like 3.4 dual core with 2gig ram 512 video ram etc. The software should work fine on atleast a 1ghz according to the min specs. I just reformated my pc a few days ago, so all i have is xp pro, vdj 4.3, 45gigs of mp3s, 160 gig hard drive, done all tweaks possible to make my pc run (skyfxl). Still no improvements. Will the skin that is being used make a difference?

Skyfxl, a while back u asked for my system specs, where you able to find out anything? I have noticed that on some post alot of moderators and vip members always ask for system specs but never reply to the actual post after that. Can some one please assist me on finding out why MP3s longer than 10min take forever to load or not load at all. I would really appreciate it and i am pretty sure others will too.

how large on average are the files

i ask for specs because im not sure if 1gb of ram is large enough to load massive files

into the memory

and this is why it could be tripping up

Well some of my MP3s are between 5mb to 80mb each. I continued to mess around with the performance and options tab and still no success. I was also trying to load a 5mb song and at the same time a 13mb song and both of the songs would not load. I then tried a 10mb song with a 5mb song and it took like 15min to load. These song did work with ver 3 and i was using the same pc, no PC upgrade since then and if i was to remove ver 4 and install ver 3 back in, i get the same problem. I would really like to get this issue fixed. why would i need to have 2 gigs of ram and a 3ghz pc (like others say in the forum) so i can use this program when some games needing lots of resource can run with no problem on these specs? I do appreciate your response and i do apologize that i had to write something to get some ones attention. Thanxs

i will investigate this more , songs are loaded directly into ram so that they can be played correctly and rapidly

so if there is alot going on already in the ram it could fill up

Ok Thanxs, if worse comes to worse i guess i would have to do a major upgrade. Since i reformatted the pc about 1.5 weeks ago i did not load anything else but xp, vdj and windows updates. I try to make sure that there is no programs running while i load vdj.
