what is the maximum number of audio songs a folder can have to run without problem in VDJ?

Well browser slowing down depends on the number of files you have in your folder, the quality of your hard drive, how your files are fragmented, your CPU, if you use ID3Tags or not
But it's always better and faster for Windows to create subfolders if you folder is too big

For a new laptop with 2 gig ram, 7200 rpm hard drive at what point the folder is too big for with files having ID3 tags?

I have 12,5 GB on my audio catalogue named B-list, and it takes 2-3 seconds to open. Once opened the structure follows with 26 sub catalogues where the audio is divided into to genres/year etc.. My 80's pop catalogue contains 263 files, and it takes less than a second to open. I have no or erased ID3 tags. Conclusion: hundreds of mp3 seems to work fine for me. Thousands of mp3 takes, obviously, longer time to load, and is also quite useless since it gives me a less organized layout and feel. ("Where are all my songs, among this huge archive of 10 000 songs?")
Running on SATA-2 discs 7200RPM WD 16 MB Cache (OS on 10.000 RPM), AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+, 2 GB RAM.

Thanks for the input. I am just migrating from PCDJ and feeling my way around with CUE. The recodrcase is where I am little confused because of lot of different looks. Thanks anyway.
