Well., I'll be dammed, I think I might have got videos running smoothly on my lappy dell duo-core
after 9 months of screaming at 4.2r1.
Here's what I did:
A) Defragged 500 GB ext. HD even though it was 2% fragged..
B) Set second monitor to 16 bit, 800 by 600, while leaving lappy screen at 1024 x 728 using 1024 x 728 skin.
Videos and transitions, along with sonique visuals(most of them) on slideshow for audio's, and a showlogo in the background all seemed to function without any pauses or freeze-ups for 4 hours continuous.
BUT....The one thing I couldn't get to work was the "text" for video captions found in the old 3.4 default skin that I use for 4.2r1. What would cause the "text" function NOT to work? In the video square between the two volume level indicators, there is a little text button that opens a little box to type in text that shows up as a caption on the video or visual playing at the time. Remember, I was using 4.2r1 for this four hour period. Is there a different way to apply these captions (other than the new Text 2D plugin)?

The Text module is in VirtualDj v4.x a plugin now called Text

I referred to the NEW plugin called Text 2d in my post and am aware of that, but where do I find that original one you are speaking of?

Is it working properly in it's prsent "beta" form. I have read of a few complaints.
Am I wrong and should I, at this time, go ahead and install w/o fear of any repercussions?
