i know this may be a stupid ?? but here it goes. I know that having all the extra processes turned off is better resorce saver but this is my only pc. can just set up a second acount (set as admin) and turn off all the extras and run vdj and have everything turned on on the first account.

No you can't. Services affect the machine universally. Startup programs on the other hand are different.

If you create a new account called 'DJ' for example (with admin rights) you can select what shell you want to use - like if you want your computer to open up with just Virtual DJ - and disable the other startup programs like virus software and all that.
Ideally you should be looking at getting a machine purely for gigging with. That way you won't have these issues. Internet-used computers are riddled with all sorts of cyber junk that you don't even know is there.
Obviously with a 'DJ' account you won't be accessing the net or anything...apparently it takes on average 7 seconds to get a virus (at least of some sort) if you log onto the net without virus protection software or firewall. So that's just silly...(",)
