Topic: white transparency screen & 10 second freeze

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

at one of my gig at a club on saturday i starting playing at about 10:30. everythink was going smooth for about 2 hrs and 30 mins. i notice when i loaded my mp3 file sometime i have a delay in the software. it will freeze for about 10 seconds. then it will resume to normal. also once in a while i got a white transparency screen. i can still see the program in the background. lucky me i had a 45 minute break so i restarted my laptop. i was only mixing mp3's. I always check in my task manager to make sure nothing else is runing in the background. do you think i need more ram.

thank you.

Laptop specs
2 duo
160 gig
1 gig of ram

1gig of ram is sufficient if u only use audio tho but have u tried uninstalled n reinstalled and clean up ur OS? N also sometime a bad corrupted mp3 could play a part in this mess too:)

Operating system.. XP or Vista? Reinstall or reformat it (but this is betta the last option u do) N save ur VDJ database to a external media such as cd or storage card b4 u do this. But first just try to reinstalled the program n these too pls save the database b4 u uninstalled the program:)

well the laptop is about 2 month old. im runing vista on it. this is a very clean laptop i only us it for vdj. so maybe it was a mp3 file. is there any way i can scan all my mp3s for problems?

By scanning i not sure, but the other way is to play it n see which file is damaged by doing it one by one(koe this is tedious but it worth a shot):)) n good luck

just before you wipe your whole pc

try the following on options --> performances

set latency to auto , untick safe and overclock , set the slider to fastest

run a system defrag and a disk check , by going to my computer and rightclicking your harddrive or drives and pressing properties , and then on the tool menu run all the tools

these will speed up peformance and repair any bad files

if this doesnt help dont worry i have a few more tweaks aslo :)

hope that helps

The white transparency screen is caused by vista when a program doesn't respond anymore.
