Topic: A VDJ lovefest!

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

Seems VDJ has been taking a bit of a beating lately,.. on it's own forums no less! So to combat some of the negativity perpetuated by some other threads. I am going to post a few things I really like about Virtual DJ. Feel free to join me and add your own points about what you really like about VDJ.

* Loops
* Cue Points
* Auto BPM (no auto mixing, I like the thing that matches the BPM of song you load with the one that's playing)
* I can configure it to not modify my mp3 files (important for synchronization with my mp3 server)
* xp10 support
* Hercules DJ console support
* Overlapping scrolling waveforms

So there you have it. A love of Virtual DJ and 7 very nice features which have helped make me a much more productive DJ.

hehe :)

Agree to all your points, and adding:

* free upgrade
* skin & effects SDK open for users, so we can make custom plugins and skins
* 3rd party support for effects (Vst) and visuals
* fast database format
* broadcast possibility
* custom shortcuts possibility
* sampler engine

probably more too, but these for sure helped me decide on VDJ, inc the ones mentioned by Anewsome

One of the best features of VDJ is this community. If you have a question, you just come here and someone will help you. Need a new skin but can't do it yourself? You can find someone here. Have a new idea that will make the program better? Post it here and see what happens. This community is awesome, as is VDJ!

Video. I don't use most of the other stuff. Let me take that back. I use the sampler, loops, kills, effects, skins. All of these, to mix videos. The fact that a lot of you donate your time and effort to skins, plugins, and visual effects, makes this a good place to be.

quite simply put NOTHING !! there is something for everyone here ! some things u pesonaly do not require is / or might be what another user solely uses !

that's the difference with VDJ
and of course

I love that the team is so open to new ideas and user input. They really have thier finger on the pulse of the users. Some things may take longer to develop than others, but they do let us know (sometimes more indirectly than others) that they are working on the issues that the community has asked for.

The platform is also made to be open to community input and customization. Almost as good as open source, while still retaining enough of a capitalistic mindset to ensure they remain in business.

I have no doubt that I have found the right software for my needs.

What i like about VDJ so much is that it was really easy to pick up and made it work, the controls were very easy to get a handle on and the overlapping wave is great. I have tried others and had no clue or a difficult time getting basic dj functions to work. So for that simple fact and all the other features already mentioned, thats what makes VDJ....

So powerful...
and yet so easy.

I wouldn't say it was a beating but rather a double check to make sure it was still the overall best choice...and yes it is!

Beatmixing video is by far my biggest favorite feature.

I was shocked at what some people will say inside the house and in some cases outside also.
Having come from the land of vaporware and long on promise short on delivery totally defective software at double the price, NOBODY has satisfied my needs like Atomix.

So when people bash a company that has done so much for me, I get kinda sore, particularly when its the holidays and we are suposed to be acting greatfull and giving.

Lets not do that again please, its really wrong.

i like the fact that if your dragging something like the waveform or a dail and the mouse hits the edge of the screen it doesnt just stop like every other dj program i can think of. when will they catch up? lol

When someone releases a programme that allows me to mix with more creativity than VDJ then I'll be the first to start useing it.., but I get the feeling I'll be useing VDJ for sometime to come ;).

i think what does it for me is the fact that VDJ is almost fully customizable.. it doesnt feel like using the keyboard and mouse is any less comfortable than regular dex and mixer...

in fact, i will go out on a limb and say that the first time i used dex and mixer after being a VDJ for about three years, and that in itself speaks volumes, my set totally sucked because i could not do half the things i took for granted with vdj...

support from the community is great.. and the fact that i got rebuked from the mod staff for razzing some crack user just goes to show that we care...

plus the fact that they have always had some hardware ready to be used with the software is very visionary.. i think they already supported external midi controllers when they launched vdj from atomixmp3 and then things just snpwballed and now the choice is amazing..

AND THE COOLEST THING IS THAT THEY HAVE MADE EVERY CELEBRATION AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE FOR ME AND MY FRIENDS...

The greatest thing about VDJ is you guys. No overblown egos, professional exchange of information, a helping hand when you need it. If there's a problem--just search the forums and you are likely to come up with an answer.

So, HUGE thanks to all of you and the VDJ staff. Now I am going to grab my good friend VDJ and a set of Technics turntables and head out for my gig.

See ya'll next year (yes, I've lived in the South of US for too long ;) )!

Ya know after having seen so many newbies in the past month, I just wanted to congradulate AutoMix Productions for VDJ. You guys have a gem on your hands and I don't think that you even know it. Soooo many people can't be wrong...
So thank you VDJ...all the Staffers, Support Team, Radio Teamers, VIPs, Experienced and Professional users that are helpful!!! Without each and everyone of you, VDJ wouldn't be such a huge hit!!!

So let's hear it for all those involved with this awesome software!!!!

Well the sheer number of new users should tell everyone just how well received the VDJ software is. I don't have the exact numbers but I'd bet that the VDJ userbase is growing faster than all of it's competitors.

EVERYTHING about VDJ is soooo incredibly awesome! but the thing i love the most about it is just the brilliance of being able to use all the CDs and MP3s you have on your computer! its so obvious that it is one of the reasons its so popular (in my opinion), but it is just an artwork. i mean, its just crazy how much better off everyone is! less storage problems with vinyls, you know where all your music is and is so accessible!
it is awesome for beginner djs to start! without going out and paying lots of money for some turntables, mixer, and vinyls just to get started, instead people can just use thier music that they already have in CD form!

it is also great for people without a vinyl store nearby (like over 150kms away for me!)

BLOODY HELL I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!!! ITS PURE GENIUS!!!!

thank you, thank you so very much.
