Topic: VDJ Ripper doesn't work.. crashes every time

I'm having a huge problem with the VDJ ripper. In both my home and my BRAND NEW work PC the VDJ ripper will crash as soon as it TRIES to open if the is a disc in the drive already. If i put a disc in the drive after i open, then it also crashes. I've seen elsewhere that many others have this issue. Is there a solution??

MY home PC is an Emachines PC

Smart Ripper for Promo Only, do a search for it here and you will find the link and the settings. If they aren't Promo Only ie. store bought dvds go with DVD decrypter.

I have smartripper, but i don't understand why the internal dvd ripper doesn't work

it doesn't matter what dvd it is.. hell even the free dvd's that come in guitar magazines crash it

another question: How do i make Smartrippers VOB files Smaller. I ripped a Headbangers DVD and the tracks are an average of 300 megs each.

Just a note here. VDj will not play a file encoded with an ac3 stereo audio track. It must be mp2 or other. Also i have found that the included ripper with VDJ will not rip DVD vidoe with ac3 encoded audio files. I switched to Xilsoft DVD ripper platinum 4, and have had no problems ripping any DVD's since then. It will allow you to re-encode the ac3 audio file as an mp2 , with no audio loss. Also has alot of compression tweaks for all of you, like myself, who just don't like the presets. Hope this helps a bit.
