I was surfing (bored & killing time) trough the magical waves of youtube and came across people who made their own gear to suit their needs, and wondered how many of you have done the same, from laptop stands to facades, etc... Post'em up lets see how creative the vdj community is...

Tex controller gotta be one of the best.. He made a midi controller from scratch, and its working great... Will try to find that video again ;)

Made a laptop stand myself :P
The lights blink with the beat of the music, and i have it so it disambles into smaller pieces. Also have it seupt for 2 different heights. Still needs to be painted though :P

not at all that's why I made 2 seperate heights 1 for sitting and the other is for standing, I'v got it all memorized now anyways :P

I have diamond plate custom cut to sit over the gaps in one of my coffins. I hate open spaces around customers....

I purchased polished diamond plate...its not cheap. There are two sheets there...each one cost me 70USD and another 100USD to cut it. But I have to admit, I love the way it turned out....

Nice work Tearemup. What is the diamond/chequer plate sitting on? Is it riveted/screwed to anything? I basically have the same setup as you and hate the gaps exposing wires also. I'm lucky enough to work for stainless company with a laser cutter though :)
