Hey man! I've also posted this on techincal support but i have no answers yet!
I have an LG P1PRO Express dual Laptop (KP02hs model) And a DDJ ERGO-V controller
Laptop Basic specs:
Core 2 duo t 5600 1.83Ghz
2Gb DDr2 667 Ram
Ati mobility radeon x1400
320Gb Sata c(AHCI MODE) HDD
In Both Windows Xp and Windows 7 (In windows 7 its worse) I have crackling noise and songs are skipping.
I thought it was a letency problem but it isn't! DPC Latency Utility shows that everything is fine!
- I've already tried disabling devices in Device manager and all un-necessary services and programs but still the same problem..
-Latency settings in asio configuration utility tested in various modes but...nothing (current config 512samples 16bit 4 kernel buffers)
- I've tried other software such as traktor pro 2 and serato dj intro much less crackling noise but still the same problem
-Cpu meter never exceeds 80% when loading to deck and when its not loading anything during playback its about 20%
So.. i've uninstalled my ati x1400 drivers and tested all 3 softwares at a resolution of 1024x768@32bit and the problem disappeared!!
i've tried diffrent versions of the drivers but still the same problem!!
when i'm using a custom skin it gets worse!! so.. I modified a skin as a test and completely disabled rhythm on top and it gets better but functionality now is much less..
I'm only mixng mp3's not video and i'm starting to think that my x1400 can't process the graphics of virtual dj could that be true?
Any suggestions on what i can do to fix it?

First, make sure that you have the latest drivers and firmware from Pioneer installed: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html
Next, check that your computer is optimised for DJ performance: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html

Make sure your power profile is set to ALWAYS ON/HIGH PERFORMANCE
If that does not help you may need to reformat your laptop, there must be a driver that is causing this and is always on. Download latest drivers for chipset and network and put them on USB stick before doing this. This usually is of a last resort but since you said u had already tried several things then this would be your next step which any serious Dj would do anyways.
- Insert you Windows CD, not the factory backup image, hopefully they gave you one.
- During setup if you choose to keep the existing partitions make sure you re-format the partition where Windows is to be installed, otherwise delete all partitions and select the now empty disk to install windows. It will then automatically partition and reformat your disk.
- Once windows is re-installed:
- Install Intel Chipset drivers
- Install LAN drivers is needed (not wireless)
- Download and install video drivers
- Download and install audio drivers
- Set power profile to HIGH PERFORMANCE
- Courtesy reboot
- Install your ASIO drivers, open it make sure it detects controller.
- Control Panel > Sound > Select your internal souncard and make it default for PLAYBACK, sometimes Windows will make the controller's souncard the default souncard for Windows and you don't want that.
- Install VDJ
Test VDJ, if all goes well then I would install the Wireless drivers and re-test. And I would personally stop there even if there are still a few bangs on the device manager. If you keep loading drivers you may run into the same problems again.
If you keep having problems after this then that laptop is just not meant to be used as a DAW.

I've already done everything!! i've even installed windows xp lite which i created with nlite from an original copy that i had as a last resort.
DPC Latency checker shows that everything is fine!! even when the sound comes out distorted so its definately not a latency issue.
With the custom version of windows total memory used is 150mb with the program runing! They are completely stripped!!
The mis-behaving driver is the ati x1400 driver.. once this driver is installed everything goes to hell (as far as vdj is concerned)
I've even tried to tweak the VDJ registry settings for the maxmem an freemem parameters but still no go!! all other drivers in my system make
no difference and i've installed older and newer versions for each device from the manufacturers website!!
I tried to find a way to work it at a resolution of 1280x800 without the ati drivers but after a lot of googling i couldn't get it to work in that resolution with the standard vga driver..
I've tested the same controller , same version of windows that i created (with nlite) on a NETBOOK
which is considerably slower and vdj runs perfectly!! Now this is Irony!!
NETBOOK SPECS:
I945GM CHIPSET
ATOM N280@1.6HZ DUAL CORE
2GB RAM
INTEL GMA 950 VGA
320GB HDD
MY LG LAPTOP SPECS:
I945GM CHIPSET
CORE2DUO T7300@2GHZ
2GB RAM
ATI X1400 VGA
320GB HDD
I guess that this laptop will just not work with djing software.. too bad.. :-(
Thank you for your responses, i really appreciate it!

Please keep in mind that Ati X1400 drivers are for DESKTOP computers. You should be seeking for Ati X1450 or X1450M drivers.
I don't know what's the case with Windows XP, but for Windows 7 you might need to hack the original drivers to make them work.

Well i could not find any drivers for x1450.. plus i searched with my device id in device manager and some other tools like driver detector
and they all recognized my vga as "ati mobility radeon x1400"
still the same problem once i install the drivers virtual dj, serato, and traktor all three are not playing correctly (i only used the other software just to check)
i currently have windows 7 with standard vga graphics adapter drivers at a resolution of 1024x768 and everything works fine!
if only i could get the standard vga driver go up to 1280x800 which is my optimal resolution.. but i can't.. i've even tried that trick with registry
"Display1_DownSacalingSupported" but i had no success..
I think i'm stuck with this.. :-(

@easyvibes
You could have an issue with the video card eating up all the computers power and not having enough to power the USB device. When the driver is installed the device will be using more power since it wont just be in VGA mode.
you might get a powered USB hub and try that way so the power isn't coming from the laptop.
Also u might want to be sure safe mode is off in VDJ settings :-)
good luck .. i'm so happy my ergo doesn't do this :-)

I have found this info http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Recording%20your%20set%20or%20broadcasting%20when%20using%20an%20external%20DJ%20mixer.html
And now i understand why i have this issue with recording.
Could anyone tell me, in XDJ Aero what socket do i have to use for Line in? Or it seems there is no one appropriate, so i have to use alternative recording software?
