Why will people not post the Configuration pics???

It's great you can demonstrate that it jumps ... but how about some picks of how you have things configured ... ??

Try turning off Clear Sound. If that doesn't work, try to turn Safe Mode & Overclock on or off. With my MAYA, i have the same issues, until i turn off Clear Sound.

With vinyl timecodes, drifting is a part of life when using VDJ.

I´ve been on to this problem since early 2006 and have now, finally, decided to kill the turntables and move on to CDs instead.

Ever since I took this big step, I have not had one single problem with the timecodes. I really miss using 1210s, but feeling confident in my setup and not having to use 1/3 of my playing time calibrating and scoping around cables/grounding etc. is such a big improvement that I fell it´s been worth it converting to the devil.

Okay. So at this moment I am going assume this:

If I like using Time Code VINYL, DO NOT BUY Virtual DJ 6 at this time. (Version 6.0.1)

If I like using Time Code CDs, Virtual DJ is awesome.

I have two SL-1200 turntables and I don't want to have to sell them just to switch to CD decks.

Yeah ... you are right should have waited until the end ... but then again ... you are using v5 and this thread is about Version 6 ...

but to answer your V5 issue ... Set your Maya Input levels to 50% and Uncheck the Clear Sound ... then run the Auto Config ... if you notice the Quality drops because your circles go OFF the grid ... to much gain ...

I am also running Numark TT1625 turntables, with Virtual DJ 6 and Serato Control records experiencing "drift" when i set them up last night. The pitch was set to 0% on my turntables, i was receiving 100% signal quality and did my best to adjust the settings to get a circle but i was getting from -1.5 up to 1.3 jumping all over the shop. Like the other user pointed out beat mixing is virtually impossible. Please need help!,
Also a second problem i was having is when trying to get a circle in the config etup of the timecodes it did not look like a circle at all, it was more flat at between the sides and the bottom. No amount of tweaking can get them to represent symmetrcal circles. some help or guidance ith this would be great too.

Setup includes
Numark TT1625 Turntables
Shure MMH Needles
Maya 44 USB
Virtual DJ 6.01
Pentium 4 2.8ghz 1gb RAM

here's an image i took lastnight as soon as i noticed my timecode drift off

If tempted to revert back to v5.2.1 but this will mean i will lose all my new database info?? a but disapointed about it now.

@cstoll: What is it you disagree about? My comments on VDJ TCVs and taking them into real life enviroments?

I use CDJ800's and the drifting is there.. in 5.07 I could beat mix without having to RIDE the pitch slide on the CDJ800's. ever since 5.1 this issue was there. WHen I told virtual DJ about this they said they KNEW there was an issue and would work on it. then when 6 cam out they told me the issue was fixed.. ITS NOT. they CLAIM they use a maya 44 and they dont have the drifting. I would love for someone to actually SEE my system andfix it if it can be. I have tried every suggestion on here and NOTHING works. I tried with and without clear sound, etc etc etc. the drifting is still there..

I have tickets in but NO RESPONSE from them. I dont know what else to do except find another piece of software to DJ with. Does anyone have any suggestions to resolve this issue.. OR for another piece of software I can use with the MAYA to mix with timecode???

I use the m audio conectiv and yes it drifts like a motha...@#* You're right in 5.07 was sweet never had a problem with that timecode engine. They should of kept timecode engine v4, which worked waaaay better than timecode engine v5. The timecode situation gets worst with every release............
Because of this only issue im looking @ Serato very soon............

By the way i use CDJ's 1000 MK3

PR1

I would look at serato in a second.. HOWEVER, I need the ability to set up a play list and have it FADE between songs (not mix). I use this during cocktail hour so I do not need to stand behind the equipment and can get the event organized.

I hear you, because of the automix feature is why i still use it and deal with timecode issue. My last gig i used Windows Media Player and created a playlist for my cocktail hour and worked just fine.......

what I might do is keep virtual DJ on my system for cocktail hour but use something else for time code mixing... HOWEVER this means I need to keep updating 2 programs...

I WISH VDJ WOULD FIX the timecode issue..

Can you please puit in a ticket yourself and mention that other users have tickets in? You can mention my ticket 95675

Dave

I WISH VDJ WOULD FIX the timecode issue..

You, Me and thousands of others my friend............

right now I wish they would just respond!!

yeah, they ask us to post our settings and Im still laiting for an explanation..... was told to submit a ticket, i did this . . . still waiting!

all i want is to go back to 5.2.1. . .

I need to go back to 5.07 as any version after that had issues with timecode.. where is virtual DJ support! someone in the USA call the support phone # and see if we can get this resolved! I would call but I am at work during the day ...

I have noticed drifting before but lowering the pitch sensitivity resolved my issue, and should for most depending on your setup.

@djqwikcut with clearsound disabled, pitch sensitivity set to 0 --- try cloning a deck and let the tracks play sync'd

How long would it take to notice any drift?

I turned CLEAR SOUND OFF.. but if I put pitch sensitivity to "0" then when I scratch the pitch is all over the place and when I play a song sometimes the pitch is at "0" and sometimes it jumps all over.

I can notice the drifting right away when I am beat mixing... I have to ride the pitch slider on my 800's which with 5.07 I didnt have to....

what can I do???

is this a tccd problem or is it tcv also, and on my brothers program his timecode display is not circles like that,,the circles actually touch but the response is great..i mean we are scratchologist and it is i would say 99% accurate...i see a pitch fluctuation but on 1200s thats do to the fluctuation of the platter... maybe theres a similar happening of your cdj feeding the tone to vdj......

Im using timce CODE CD's.. I can scratch fine the way I have it set up.. its beat mixing that you have to ride the cDJ800s pitch
