Topic: So who is getting the Denon DN-X1700 mixer? Will this work with VDJ?

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

The owner of the club I work at wants to replace the beat up mixer we have. He was considering the Rane because "well it works with Serato"... but being a VDJ user myself he wants to keep me happy and is asking for my recommendation.

Will the DN-X1700 do everything needed to work with VDJ? I currently use a Hercules MK2 for DJing that I just plug into their crappy mixer. Ideally if we go with the Denon, I can use that as a sound card instead and eliminate the MK2 from my setup.

So I guess I am curious if the Denon will do the following in VDJ

- Full timecode CD support (specifically with the Pioneer DVD decks)
- Fader syncing so the fader on the Denon mixer will audo + video fade my VDJ
- Good quality sound card (specifically as good or better than the MK2 soundcard - I don't want to use a separate audio USB sound card)

It seems to be a great mixer!!

From what I read on the product page: http://www.denondj.com/DN-X1700-P112.aspx
It has 4in / 4out Asio soundcard.
So you should be able to use it as a soundcard for a Timecode setup.

But I don't know if you can use the soundcard and the MIDI at the same time.

I don't know about the mixer but on the denon decks you can use the sound card and midi at the same time.

I wish there was a way to verify this before buying.

Let me ask you guys an unrelated question. The way I have my set up currently, I am simply using the MK2. I do on occasion connect my Pioneer DVD decks to the MK2 and use them as timecode CDs.

When I DJ and have the timecodes set up, I end up hitting play on the MK2 which starts the track, then I use the Pioneer decks to cue up my song.

If I eliminate the MK2 from the picture, and assuming I can use the Denon mixer crossfader to cross-fade within VDJ, does the cue and play button on the Pioneer decks function as a cue and play within Virtual DJ (the same way the MK2 cue and play buttons work)?

I am not very familiar with Timecode CDs. I just want to know if I do get the Denon mixer and have the two Pioneer decks, I don't need any other equipment (like any other USB controllers, sound cards, etc.)

I use a laptop.

I just got the DN-X1700 and you will be able to control your VDJ via midi with it. I still dont know about the internal sound card since I haven't figured it out yet.
