Topic: WHILE ON TRIAL VERSION...cd control please help

Dieses Thema ist veraltet und kann veraltete oder falsche Informationen enthalten.

I am trying to check out the trial version of virtual dj as I make my mind up on it.

I have the following equipment:

Two laptops 17' HP running vista 64 and a 14' Dell windows xp (which is the one I am using)
two Pioneer 1000mk3's cdjs
a 4000 ddm behringer mixer
a behringer ucontrol 202 external soundcard

Now, I tried connecting this so that i can mess with one of the cdjs with the one soundcard on my dell laptop but I have no clue on how to do this. I am trying to check out the time code response. I have downloaded the timecode mp3 from this site as well. (which brings up a question..its only 12 minutes long..do we put multiple copies of that track on a cd?)

I have no clue how to mess with the configuration in virtual dj's program interface.

help a person out here. I would really like to see this puppy in action with my pioneer cdj.

in case it helps...

when i select no input, it gives me 3 choices for soundcard

simple
simple low latency
asio (downloaded for the behringer 202 from their site)

when I select single time code, only the asio driver comes up

there is a third choice for timecodes for two devices but that is not for me yet till i purchase this and the maya.....later

can you tell me, step by step, how i can connect my cd player and the usb soundcard thru the configuration button?

please assume i do not know a thing about this...cause I don't! excuse my ignorance. first timer. thanks in advance.

First you need to install the Pioneer ASIO drivers that windows can recognize the soundcard itself.
When this part is working you can select the ASIO driver for your pioneer in the config menu.

My fault - I thought you were using 2x CDJ-400 - they have their own soundcard within.

Best is to take a look at the WIKI https://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/index.html

There are detailed information about the connection of each component.

Tried to help by conducting some searches in the forum. Not sure if they will totally help you but maybe give you some extra thoughts and you can get it going.

FYI many in this forum have heavy weekends with gigs & events so it can take sometime to get an asnwer or potential resolution for your situtaion.

Also for future post my recommendation is to make the post/thread title more specific to the issue something like 4000 behringer mixer + ucontrol 202 ex soundcard W/Pioneer 1000 mk3's Set up help. Maybe shorter but I think you get what I mean. OK hopefully something down below will help. Good luck!

Oh and forgot to mention that you can rest assured that you won't regret purchasing VDJ! It's AWESOME!!

Ok I will try to help but I am no epert with the DDM4000. You can use the mixer by itself as its a MIDI device and VDJ will reconize it as such!! I dont know the rules of using the trial version but there is a mapper you can download that will get you started!! Using a external soundcard with it is what I did because I could not map it myself? so first the sound card has to be able to use ASIO drivers. Next go get the ASIO for all drivers. Install them. Not sure if that version of the BC is native to VDJ so if it is then is a plug and play.

I am assuming you know how to connect everything? Then go to your sound set tab in VDJ should look like this;

Input - the 2 TT pictured

output - External Mixer 3 line

Sound - ASIO.....If your sound card is native to VDJ then there should be a picture of it.

hoipe this helps.
