edit videos, is a caracteristic, that have in the new versions of Virtual Dj, since 5.0 to actually 6.0.6, you have registered your mixer MK2, if you want to edit videos you can update to VDJ Pro, visit this link.

You should be able to add MP4 to the codecs tab. I've never used that version, but I'm assuming it still existed then. The question is why would you want to use such an old version? If you own VDJ Pro you should register your serial and try out the latest version.

mp4 support was added in VirtualDJ 5.0 rev6 (02 December 2007)

I know the latest version works, I've been using the free trial and no dount the new version is great, but I just wanted to know if I could do it with the old version since I already have it. I have registered my MK2, but can only download version 3.4, which is not much different from the old 3.1.
I guess I can always spend the money to upgrade or just convert my MP4's to VOD's if I want to use videos on the old version.
